Hi my name is Light and i am a fractalholic......oh wait .wrong meeting!
Hello! Welcome to Project Educate Fractal Week. My mission this week is to try and explain what fractal art is, show you some programs used to create fractal art, and get you totally addicted to it like I am.
What is Fractal Art? i could copy something straight from wikipedia...or get one of my well versed fractal friends to give me a technical answer but....thats just not my style..
I dont really understand the math behind fractal art. I dont want to. I just want the tools to make beautiful images. `Platinus once told me a painter doesnt really have to know whats in the paint or how the canvas was made to be able to create beautiful work so I live by those words. If you have been thinking about trying fractals but stopped because you dont know anything about the math required then its your lucky day.
*TaraRoys tried to explain fractals several times to different groups of people and this is the easiest way to explain them by far.[link] ~lkmitch explains a lot here in the Fractal Manifesto. I use one part of that article all the time when people say to me fractals are just a computer making lines Fractal Art is not: Computer(ized) Art, in the sense that the computer does all the work. The work is executed on a computer, but only at the direction of the artist. Turn a computer on and leave it alone for an hour. When you come back, no art will have been generated.
Here are some of the Programs used to make fractals and images made with them.

There are many more programs available! So pick one and try it for yourself. Join us in the chat room #Aposhack and lets have some fun this week!
