How are you today ?
Today, I was browsing my art RSS feed, when I see this wonderfull article on Fubiz about snowflakes. (available in English by clicking on "Français" on the top right corner of the article ;))
A Russian photograph called Andrew Osokin succeed to give us impressive macroscopic snapshots of snowflakes !
Wait !! What ??? you gonna make us read something about photography ! But ... But... You're the Fractal Community Volunteer! not the photography one...
Yes I will ! And why??
Because I'm not only a fractal artist, I'm an art lover... and how do I improve my skill ?
By taking inspiration from other mediums, by looking for some new artworks everyday !

March Vector DDs!What is Vector Art?
In digital art there are two layer formats: raster and vector. Raster formats are based in pixels and vector is based in paths and points.
When you resize a raster image, you are expanding the pixels. Your program has to try to estimate what the colours would be for the additional pixels created. Due to this, the image loses it's clarity and creates a pixel effect.
When you resize a vector image, you are increasing the distance between the points. Due to this, the image doesn't lose it's clarity and doesn't pixellate.
The key element of vector is that it's infinitely scalable without any quality loss and it's why we love it!
What is a Daily Deviation?
A Daily Deviation is a site wide feature. These are selected from our galleries by Community Volunteers and from suggestions from ANYONE who is a member of deviantART!
